The main focus of the role is to implement and maintain best practice of environment, health and safety standards within the Green Leaf Threshing factory and the leaf centres within the country, as well as within Operations and Commercial Functions, in line with legal and corporate requirements. Deliver the sustainability roadmap for the operation, timely and accurate reporting of sustainability... KPIs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Operations/ Professional/ Business


Preparation and execution of the annual sustainability plans via IWS(Integrated Work System).
Daily inspection of the premises for identification of unusual activities/situations that may be regarded as potential hazards.
Daily monitoring of contractors’ activities for compliance to the EHS guidelines and Permit To Work process.
Weekly inspection of first aid kits and collation of incident reports.
Monthly inspection of fire equipment, fire alarm and suppression systems
Carrying out induction training for all new contractor employees and site entry assessments.
Preparing and planning for EHS inhouse trainings.
Participation in incident accident investigations.
Monitoring of the waste management/segregation process.
Management of the fumigation and pest control programme.
Participation in project meetings.
Performance review of 3rd party vendors with regards to Sustainability.


Management


Ensure implementation of the fire alarm, fumigation ,maintenance of fire fighting equipment and effluent treatment contracts are carried out correctly and on time.
Ensure availability of adequate and quality personal protective equipment.
Ensure that all contractors fully understand the procedures to follow to safeguard the environment and the health and safety of their activities.
Execution of comprehensive risk assessments for all the key activities in the plant and leaf operations.
Ensure adequate and effective proactive controls are in place to mitigate all risks in the plan and leaf operations


Leadership


Co-ordinating internal EHS Reviews and audits.
Prepare and manage all EHS records and documentation.
Coordinate firefighting team in the event of an emergency and first aid team in the event of need.
Organize specialized inhouse training for first aiders and fire fighters.
Co-ordinating the various statutory/corporate medical check ups for staff and contractors onsite.


What are we looking for?


Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline. A qualification in EHS/Sustainability will be an added advantage.
5 years’ experience in a factory set up (FMCG, pharma, oil and gas).
Good knowledge of MS Office package; SAP knowledge represents an added advantage.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The Factory Logistics Manager position is to ensure that all aspects of the logistics processes and Systems, especially SAP, in the Eastern Africa markets are compliant with internal and external control and statutory requirements. The job holder will need to ensure that best practices, industry and BAT standards, local and international regulations are always... complied with by all parties concerned.  As the logistics network gets more complicated, risk management and business continuity must be reviewed regularly.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

To ensure that all aspects of the Logistics process and systems in EAM are compliant with internal and external control and statutory requirements, BAT best practices and industry norms.
To be the custodian for the usage of Logistics systems ensuring their integrity especially with increased reliance on 3rd parties. This relates especially but not exclusively to SAP, global freight compliance, SAP WMS, records management, EH&S etc.
To ensure logistics costs are managed within agreed budget and unit costs are reduced through continuous improvement and innovation.
To manage the integrity of the Logistics processes, systems and products being handled to ensure Customer satisfaction.
To ensure regular assessment of Logistics risks with the necessary mitigating and corrective measures in place.  Work closely with stakeholders to develop and maintain an up-to-date supply chain risk register and contingency plan.
To provide expert advice and solutions to other BAT operations, functions or partners i.e. Distributors in setting up the necessary logistics standards.
To advise stakeholders of changes in Local and International rules and regulations related to cross border product movements.  Advise status of regional Ports e.g. in terms of congestion, piracy activity etc.
To ensure that all controls are in place and are robust enough -system and process within logistics.

To drive a culture that ensures absolute control of the Logistics processes with the necessary effective preventive and corrective measures.

To ensure timely and accurate communication of shipments and their corresponding documents through regular tracking.  Advise CFT accordingly on a regular basis.

To manage all the BAT on-site and off-site warehouses and inventories therein and to ensure product integrity and inventory accuracy.
To ensure that the appropriate level of insurance is in place for all movement and storage of goods and that all claims are processed effectively.
To carry out regular ageing analysis of BAT stocks with recommendations on obsolescence, damaged stocks etc. 
To ensure safe and secure destruction of approved obsolescence in a responsible manner and provide destruction reports with the necessary evidence.
Manage the relationship/collaboration with 3PL service providers to deliver expected business results through teamwork, partnerships and collaboration.
To maintain and issue the Logistics KPI dashboard and performance reviews with continuous improvement plans.
Ensure all records are maintained and provided as per BAT best practice and local regulations.
Ensure annual rolling leaf supply forecast is submitted to GLP on monthly basis.
Ensure leaf shipments are tracked on monthly basis with risks of OOS/ over stocked flagged to the business on time.
Ensure timely application and closure on Inward processing facility with monthly tracking and reconciliations.

Experience Required

Your key responsibilities will include:
Revenue and Brands:

Prepare Business Cases for new product launches, brand migrations & geographic expansion plans; 
Assist with the monthly revenue forecasting cycle and provide detailed analysis of course of changes vs previous forecasts and previous periods.
Perform Post Implementation Reviews of marketing spend/investments against the pre-approved... Business Cases to ensure that the spend/investment generated the intended value and was within budget.Preparing also reports and presentations to leadership teams on revenue performance vs forecast and vs previous periods, highlighting key commercial drivers.
Prepare brand profitability statements/Aide Mémoire for all markets & products for reference by the Marketing and Finance teams when working out estimated financial impacts of various decisions such as volume, mix and phasing changes.
Support with Brand Expenditure forecasting and spend tracking against approved Business Cases, Cycle Plans, and budgets to identify potential opportunities or risks.

Categories growth & profitability:

Support in driving growth of ESA’ New Categories business and development/modelling of 5-year financial forecasts.
Support with ensuring New Categories marketing spend effectiveness (both OPEX & CAPEX) to generate maximum return on investment.

Audit:

Coordinate and facilitate various internal and external audits for Kenya & ESA Revenue as and when they fall due, including internal compliance reviews.
Provide relevant information requested by the auditors in timely fashion, address any queries that come up and raise issues that may arise from the audit for quick resolution.

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The Commercial Finance Manager, Operations, supports the ESA Finance team and owns the end-to-end record to report process.  This role is responsible for coordinating and executing quality planning and reporting activities as well as managing controls and risks.  The role provides performance management and commercial support to Operations function outside of... Finance and is the single point of contact between Global Business Services (GBS) and ESA.
Due to the Above Market nature of the role, the jobholder operates in a challenging and volatile environment which is quite complex. The incumbent is required to have a good grasp of the accounting and local laws and regulation in all the markets in order to develop, implement, and continuously improve processes and systems to ensure high quality support to all internal stakeholders while maintaining robust business controls.
The complexity of the operations in ESA, with different business streams and models, requires a Finance professional with a highly commercial approach, strong management and interpersonal skills. The individual should be capable of analysing the financial impact of any proposed changes in the financial accounting set-up as well as be able to demonstrate the need for, and ensure implementation of, appropriate systems and controls.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Business partnering (provide insights on financial performance – Cost of goods sold, manufacturing cost, working capital,  CAPEX, Profit, Cash flows); forecast vs actual variance analyses
BPC reporting: monthly target alignment, commentaries submissions (e.g. flash reporting, working capital, Operations overheads, management commentaries)
Preparation of a financial pack for presentation at the ESA Finance Leadership Team meeting, Business Review Meeting and Sales & Operational Planning reporting/presentations.
Ensure delivery of accurate financial information (Budgets, Forecasts and Actual results), in line with group accounting principles
Compile commentary and ensure accuracy and articulation of variances appropriate.
Ensuring Operations financial controls are implemented at the end market level
Support internal and external audit within job holder’s responsibility.
Provide support & training to budget holders & internal stakeholders as appropriate to ensure alignment to required BAT planning and reporting processes.
Co-ordination, preparation and analysis of the financial accounts for ESA to help management monitor ongoing performance on an accurate and timely basis.
Ensure a strong system of Internal controls within the Finance department in ESA.
To proactively monitor key accounts in the balance sheet to improve the company’s working capital.
If required, identify and initiate appropriate corrective action to prevent or address significant accounting issues.
Manage and provide sufficient oversight, mentorship, development coaching and support to the Commercial Finance team in ESA.
Proactively giving insights on financial performance to the ESA Leadership team including leading the compilation of the ESA’s company plan
Continuously provide adequate support & training to budget holders and internal stakeholders as appropriate to ensure all stakeholders are aligned to required BAT way of work.
Full optimisation of SAP and BPC capabilities to improve productivity and improve efficiency within the Finance function.
Utilise internal processes and networks to ensure the dissemination of knowledge and learning throughout the organisation, to facilitate productivity gains and continuous improvements.
Review and benchmark processes against BAT entities and develop initiatives to enhance performance.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, ICEAW) qualified with at least 7 years progressive experience in Financial Reporting and Planning
Experience in use of SAP (enterprise system) – added advantage
Team player who collaborates and coordinates effectively within a DRBU with stakeholders at varying levels in the organisational hierarchy
Should help identify and drive initiatives that have a business focus and are commercially viable
