Job Description

The Assistant Games Tutor will be expected to:-


Assist in planning and organizing games and sports activities.
Ensure general care and maintenance of games facilities.
Supervise students going for extracurricular activities to ensure they conduct themselves in a proper manner.
Conduct specialized training to enhance players’ performance.
Accompany teams to... competitions to provide support to participating students.
Motivate players/students and staff to enhance participation in games and sports.
Coach and referee games to ensure compliance and order during participation. 
Coach and present teams for community organized competitions to encourage social integration.
Coordinate training and practice of teams to ensure adherence to training programmes.
Keep inventory of games and sports materials and equipment and ensure they are in proper state.
Issue team with sports equipment to ensure teams are well equipped for games.
Supervise marking of sports courts to ensure the appropriate specifications are adhered to.


Minimum Requirements


Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education/ Sports and Extra-curricular activities or equivalent from a recognized institution with at least four (4) years’ experience as a Coach in a University or comparable institution
First Aid and lifesaving training.
Computer literacy.
A coach of at least three (3) sports/games.
Active refereeing experience in at least two (2) sports.
Training in Sports Administration and Management.
Physically fit.

Minimum Requirements


Must have an earned Ph.D. degree in in Communication and Journalism or its equivalent from a recognized academic institution.


OR


Must have a Masters degree in a Communication and Journalism from a recognized academic institution.
Must have at least three (3) years of teaching or research experience at university level after obtaining a Master’s degree.
Must have at least twenty four (24) publication points of which Sixteen (16) should be from two (2) publications in refereed journals OR one (1) book or 2 (two) book chapters in relevant areas.
Be a registered member of a relevant professional body (where applicable).
Should show evidence of having experience in handling technical courses in broadcast and new media.

Minimum Requirements


Must have a Ph.D. degree in Communication and Journalism from a recognized academic institution.
Must have at least three (3) years of university teaching experience at the level of a full time Lecturer. 
Must have at least four (4) articles in refereed journals since becoming a Lecturer OR at least one (1) refereed book in candidate’s professional area published by recognized publishers, plus two (2) articles OR at least (3) distinguished exhibition, performances or original creation, plus one (1) article in a refereed journal since becoming a lecturer.
Should show evidence of having supervised postgraduate students.
Should have attended and contributed at conferences, seminars or workshops.
Have experience in curriculum development and review.
Should show evidence of having experience in handling technical courses in broadcast and new media.
Should have evidence of affiliation with recognized and relevant professional bodies.
Should have evidence of contributions towards university life through active participation in Departmental and Faculty activities and good quality teaching attendance of meetings, student academic advising and committee membership

Minimum Requirements


PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, from a recognized institution of higher learning.
Master’s Degree in the above areas with at least five (5) years of university-level teaching experience.
Demonstrated teaching experience in courses such as Python/R Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Data Analytics, and Database Systems.
Experience in supervising research and industrial attachment for undergraduate students.
Strong proficiency in the use of LMS and digital instructional tools.
Evidence of research and publication in relevant academic fields.
Professional certifications (e.g., AWS, Google Analytics, Tensor Flow, and Microsoft Data Analyst) will be an added advantage.
Membership in professional bodies such as IEEE, ACM, or Data Science Society of Kenya is desirable.
Excellent communication, mentorship, and teamwork skills.

PhD in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field from a recognized institution of higher learning
Master’s degree in the above areas with at least five (5) years teaching experience at university level.
Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as:

Ethical Hacking Tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap)
Network Security
Cyber Laws and Governance
Machine Learning Applications in Cybersecurity
Cloud and IoT Security


Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and virtual teaching tools.
Professional certifications (e.g., CEH, CISSP, CISA, CompTIA Security+, OSCP) will be an added advantage.
Membership in relevant professional bodies such as ISACA, IEEE, or ACM is preferred.
Evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities


Implementation of practical activities as will be planned with the respective lecturers
Treating any sick animals at the farm at no fee except cost of drugs and tools/equipment
Supervision of repairs and cleanliness of animal structures
Supervision of feeding of farm animals
Planning exhibitions and farmers training at the farm and... elsewhere as may be required
Setting up and maintaining laboratory and farm equipment for practical sessions and research
Ensure that all equipment, supplies, specimen and reagents are available
Maintain laboratory solutions, equipment and apparatus
Overseeing the daily care and management of animals used for teaching and research
Collect and preserve animal microorganisms in the laboratory
Assisting lecturers in demonstrating animal husbandry practices such as feeding, breeding, health management, and record-keeping
Preparing and organizing teaching aids such as charts, models, and samples for use in lectures and practical classes
Keeping an inventory of laboratory and farm equipment, tools, and supplies and ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition
Ensuring compliance with safety and animal welfare regulations
Preparing reports on laboratory and farm activities for departmental review


Minimum Requirements


Diploma in Animal Health from a Recognized College or University
Being registered and licensed by the Kenya Veterinary Board
A Certificate in Artificial Insemination will be an added advantage
Ability to conduct laboratory analysis of animal products and feed samples
At least 3 years of practical experience in animal production and treatment of a wide range of farm animals
Must be computer literate
