Main Duties and Responsibilities

Performing the day to day activities and administrative processes to ensure an efficient running of the clearance and transportation processes of company raw materials following the supply procedures according to company standards and protocols including the following activities:

Managing and planning, in collaboration with the line Supervisor and the... Warehouse Supervisor, the shipment of goods all around the country.
Being responsible for the reception of international /local freight and its forwarding to the warehouse.
Being responsible for all customs and administrative related issues.
Regularly assessing the local transport market (companies, prices, services, delays,), and proposing different third-party providers for validation


Performing delegated tasks according to his / her activity and as specified in his/her job description
Follow-up of Customs Clearance Procedures with the clearing Agent/ Nigerian/custom
Keep in touch with the Agent/freight forwarder to follow up on customs clearance procedures and ensure delivery as quickly as possible to reduce the delivery time.
Be proactive in his particular job concerning the follow-up of international freight.
Receives documents from international freight and forwards documents to freight forwarder immediately.
He / She ensures the proper application / implementation of the transport plan established between MSF Supply and the mission (SLA) and informs the Supply Coordinator in the event of malfunction or recorded delay.
For the sending of material to Brussels in hand freight, it ensures the creation of freight document, and for air or sea freight, it organizes the transport with the forwarder.

Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

Essential: University Degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Administration or Procurement related studies.

Experience & Knowledge:

At least 2 years experience in supply chain related jobs or in the logistics department.
Sense of Responsibility and ability to solve problems.
Knowledge of customs regulations and requirements.
Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Functions

Obtain accurate Check List and check all documents to avoid errors, identify missing documents, and/or identify potential issues. Opening of form M / LC Application to import.
Handling timely order execution & documentation like Pre & Post shipment documents.
Manage customs documentation for clearing and forwarding.
Liaising with accredited clearing agent for the clearing of... goods at destination Apapa, Tin can island, and airport as the case may be.
Liaising with the shipping company on all issues with consignment.

Managing demurrages, port charges within specified norms
Managing the seamless movement of the consignments to the destination.
Liaising with Port authorities & customs officials, monitoring compliance to regulatory requirements, and maintaining requisite papers & documents.
Coordinating with Port Authorities for various requirements connected to the vessels handling at the ports.
Renewal of relevant licenses for all company imported listed items and should be conversant to the procedures
To get duty assessment in one day after Pre- Arrival Assessment Report PAAR and rotation number is allotted.
To follow up with approved clearing agents to ensure timely clearance.
To apply and get refunds shipping & container deposits etc.
To be able to organize fast track clearing for the group.
To prepare daily progress report and send to Head Office before the close of the business.
Any other assignment that may be given from time to time by superior officers.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline. A Master’s degree is a Plus.
Minimum of 3 years work experience in a Clearing & Forwarding Company in Nigeria.
Proficiency in international documentation, LC, Shipping processes, bill of lading.
Previous experience working with customs brokers, forwarders, and international partners
Must have Operational knowledge of the ports and government agencies.
Must have knowledge of proper clearing and haulage documentation for imports.
Must have appropriate knowledge of inspection agents, Banks, shipping companies, and Terminals.
Must have knowledge of the customs and Excise HS Code and Explanatory notes.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Word)
Ability to work independently

Job Requirements 

B.Sc./BA in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field with 3 years of relevant experience.
Proven experience as logistics coordinator

Bilingual English and Chinese (speaking and typing only, no written) to liaise with Chinese-speaking associates.
