Project Brief
Project: The “Environmentally Sound Disposal and Recycling of E-Waste Project” promotes models for improved management of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) along the value chain. The project supports public actors at the national and local level to put in place a national E-Waste Management Scheme, helps recycling companies to develop new business models and comply with environmental regulations and provides technical training and organizational assistance to scrap dealers of the informal sector to build up their skills to dismantle E-Waste in an environmentally sound way.
Scope of Role:
As a communication specialist you are responsible for enhancing the visibility and impact by communicating effectively on the project’s strategy, activities and results. You will be responsible for designing communication tool targeted to different audiences, answer information requests in English language, prepare press declarations, media posts and publications, assist the M&E Specialist with monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management.
Tasks:
• Coordinate and steer all external and internal communications of the project in English language in line with GIZ corporate design guidelines and other orientations. • Ensure that corporate design guidelines are applied by all members of the project team and by external service providers. • Prepare or update communication tools (e.g. fact sheets, activity reports to doners, project presentations, media posts, press releases publications, speeches), help to prepare communication material for site visits by delegations, the country director or the German Ambassy. • Respond to all requests for information in English language concerning the project. This includes coordination with the GIZ Country Office in Ghana and GIZ’s Corporate Communications Unit in Germany. • Support the M&E Specialist with collecting data, preparing presentations and reports. • Prepare activity reports to partners and contribute to the preparation of communication products for events and steering committeemeetings. • Participate and contribute to the GIZ internal Communication Specialist Working Group and inform the project team on new orientations. • Build and maintain a data bases on service providers in the field of communication (journalist, editors etc.). • Support with knowledge management (documenting advisory approaches, record management)
Qualification Required & Experience
• Master’s degree in journalism, communication, public relations or another relevant field. • Five years (and above) of professional experience in the field of corporate communications, preferably in an international organisation. • Excellent English language skills in writing and speaking; text editing skills, and professional experience in the filed of graphic design are of advantage. • Proven track record in developing high quality communication products for different target groups (print and digital) with visual elements (e.g photo editing, graphic designs); experience with the preparation of information campaigns and audiovisual material are an advantage. • Proficiency in digital communication and social media management, strong ITC skills (MS Office, Excel, online communication tools.) • Professional experience in the field of Monitoring and Evaluation of projects an advantage. • Ability to make use of monitoring data for results communication and story telling. • Basic knowledge of notions such as “circular economy”, “urban mining”, e-waste management”. • Service-and client orientation, ability to work well in diverse, multi-national teams. • Excellent capacities to self-organise, ability to keep deadlines and deliver high quality work under time pressure

The Support to the Transformation of TVET in Ghana project aims to support the reforms of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ghana in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Commission for TVET, the TVET Service, TVET Institutions and other private and public sector stakeholders. Scope of Role:

• The Advisor will provide expert advice and input to anti-corruption agencies and other relevant stakeholders on relevant legislation, institutional reforms and other legal operational instruments necessary to strengthen the overall anti-corruption regime in Ghana. The role includes designing and delivering capacity-building initiatives to enhance Internal and External Audit, Access to Information and Citizen Engagement. Additionally, the Advisor will contribute to results-based monitoring and reporting of activities.

In closecooperation with the Ghanaian Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ghana Health Service (GHS) and building on the successful implementation of the Ghana Heart Initiative (GHI), the multi-donor approach focuses on improved and integrated healthcare services for cardiovascular diseases and diabetes type II
Scope of Role:
• The Administrative Specialist is responsible for overseeing of the smooth running of the AYA Integrated Healthcare Initiative office with a focus on administrative, logistic and office management aspects in accordance with agreed quality standards thereby supporting the achievement of the agreed project objectives of the AYA Integrated Healthcare Initiative.
Tasks
• Ensure the quality of outgoing project requests and documents • Oversee relevant information sharing and exchange between team members and relevant project partners • Coordinate transportation, accommodation, flight booking and all other travel arrangements for team members, consultants and other project partners as necessary • Manage confidential files in the areas of finance and administration • Organise administrative and logistical aspects of project activities including meetings, workshops, events etc. for consultants, visitors, and other project partners • Support the smooth running of the project office, monitoring availability/stocks of accessories and supplies and reporting damage/defect for repairs and maintenance • Maintain project filing system in accordance with GIZ procedure with adherence to confidentiality • Maintain project inventory; project vehicle and logbook/fuel consumption sheet • Perform other tasks outside the scope of this job description where appropriate and reasonable
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Public Administration or related area. • Minimum of five (5) years’ professional experience in a comparable position. Previous work in a projectized environment is an asset. • Very good working knowledge of ITC technologies including MS Office suite and digital communications. • Results oriented with excellent organisational and multitasking skills. • Ability to work in a high paced environment with high attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills, proactivity, adaptability and willingness to create results under pressure. • Experience with working in multicultural and multisectoral environments, with excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork capabilities. • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English language. • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed.

Project Brief:
• The REACH project seeks to build Climate Resilience across 14 districts in northern Ghana. • Through extensive capacity building measures on Conservation Agriculture, Community Engagement and improved planning and policies on District level, the challenges of climate change for rural areas are tackled. • The Project is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. • It is part of the EU Ghana Agricultural Programme which is implemented together with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ghana (MoFA).
Scope of Role:
• As an Advisor for Rural Development, you are responsible to identify, develop and implement processes that anchor knowledge on climate resilient agricultural production methodologies within the agricultural sector. • For this you work together with the Agricultural Extension Service of MoFA-Departments of Agriculture (DOAs), NGOs, public partners as well as the Private Sector partners. • Within the project you cooperate with other units to develop measures on behavioural change as well as innovative approaches to engage communities within their livelihoods
Tasks:
• Provide technical advice to improve agricultural extension outreach in northern Ghana, to develop community action plans as well as foster knowledge management on agricultural practices, especially on Conservation Agriculture • Conceptualisation of Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for the joint implementation of rural development approaches • Establishing conceptual links and integrated solutions with other units of the project, esp. Planning, Digitalization and Communication. • Advising partners in the field of Conservation Agriculture, Community Engagement and other rural development topics. • Take over responsibility for implementation of processes guided by the Agroecology unit as well as other specific tasks. • Prepare terms of reference, budgets, surveys, specifications and other documents to contract service providers or procure goods. • Monitor and supervise activities of grant recipients (NGOs and public sector partners) as well as responsibilities of other external service providers such as consultants, Agricultural Extension Agents (AEAs), etc. • Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations on the procurement of agrochemicals and other agro inputs.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Master's degree in Rural Development, Agronomy, Agroecology, Agricultural Extension, Community Development or any other relevant field for the position. • 5 years’ professional experience in the field of Rural Development with a focus on Extension Services, Climate Change, Conservation Agriculture and/or Community Engagement as well as experience in working with public sector institutions • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and create and maintain effective relationships with private companies and government personnel • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Team, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. • Excellent knowledge of English; Knowledge of local languages of Upper West is a strong asset. • Good knowledge of the cultural dimensions and undertones in the Upper West Region • Ability to work under pressure, strong team orientation, cooperation and negotiation skills

Scope of Role:
• The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the procurement of goods, services and contracting for the NIED Cluster projects.
Tasks:
• Procures materials & equipment locally, monitor markets trends, issues RFQs & processes orders in accordance with GIZ rules and regulations • Negotiate good deals with suppliers on behalf of GIZ within the framework of public procurement law and transparency requirements for negotiations • Documents and files every contract audit-proof in SharePoint & the contract filing software according to rules and regulations and record transactions in contract monitoring tools. • Contacts suppliers of defective goods delivered and arranges necessary follow-ups • Arranges for the safe transfer of goods to their destination (arranges and coordinates the safe transportation of deliveries to the requesting projects sites and offices outside Accra and ensures written confirmation of delivery by the project • Monitors and controls the event procurement processes in the project and at CO level
Qualification Required & Experience
• University Degree in BA/BSc Purchasing & Supply or similar area. • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience with a focus on procurement, contracting & event organization. • Good working experience in IT-based programs, Ms Teams. • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. Ms office) • Strong command of the English language (both written and oral) is required; knowledge of German language is an asset. • Proactive attitude towards personal growth and institutional changes. • Good interpersonal, management and communication skills. • Rendering result-oriented performance. • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
