Overall, provides all necessary support to the Finance Officer and the Project Team in the implementation of the project in accordance with the respective NEPWHAN procedures.

Accounting Support:

Provide proper accounting to the project by controlling the... supporting documents for payments.
Ensure that all accounting records are maintained in line with this manual, GAAP and Donors’ and partners’ requirements.
Preparation of periodic financial reports.
Preparation of staff salary payroll and other related payment.
Posting and updating prepayment and cash advances subsidiary ledger.
Ensure that all accounting records are updated promptly.
Prepare monthly Bank reconciliation statements for all bank accounts;
In charge of payment and Posting on QuickBooks.

Provide financial monitoring and reporting focusing on the achievement of the following results:

Provide financial support to ensure an effective running of the project management unit in compliance with NEPWHAN rules, regulations and policies of financial activities, financial recording/reporting system;
Provide financial monitoring over project commitments and expenditures, and assist the FM in assuring proper project delivery;
Draft project budget revisions/ Trackers
Provide follow-up on audit recommendations;
Implement effective internal controls and ensure the proper functioning of a client-oriented financial resources management system;
Contribute to the preparation of periodic financial reports required by relevant national and/or donor procedures for the project, donors, government and other parties involved in the implementation and funding of activities;

Other:

Perform any other administrative and financial duties related to the project as requested by the Finance Manager.

Competencies and Required Skills and Experience

B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics or Finance.
At least 2 years of relevant finance experience in a known and reputable organization
ACCA, ANAN and ICAN student membership will be an added advantage.
Fluency in written and spoken English mandatory.

Job Summary

Serves as a key point of legal advice on NEPWHAN and its member’s legal issues to ensure protection of NEPWHAN interest.

Principal Functions

Tactical:

Advice NEPWHAN on local and international legal matters including civil, criminal, contractual laws that may affect NEPWHAN activities or its members across the 36+1 state.
Ensure compliance with relevant... legislation/regulations and give adequate legal advice in order to reduce NEPWHAN risk liability.
Advice NEPWHAN on legal matters relating to property acquisitions or rentals.
follow up with all NEPWHAN members legal issues as it relates the Gender based Violence, Stigmatization and discrimination
Demonstrate ownership of the all matters and advice NEPWHAN on any legal peculiarities.
Evaluate the impact of new laws regulations and legislations that may affect NEPWHAN or its’ employees and activities and make recommendations to the National Coordinator.
Keep abreast of global and local best practices as it relates to the department’s activities.
Continuously assist in reviewing the departments/teams activities and make recommendations for improvement and implement approved initiatives to ensure enhanced performance of the team.
Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Operational:

Ensure effective case management strategy and adequate representation in litigation matters involving NEPWHAN.
Monitor Litigation (including any alternative dispute resolution mechanisms) by and against NEPWHAN and manage NEPWHAN legal exposure in matters.
Oversee searches and due diligence on title verification, CAC searches, corporate searches/enquiries etc.
Give qualitative legal advice on title verification/due diligence and ensure proper documentation for property and site related acquisitions.
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with lease terms in approving renewals.
Draft Deeds, contract Agreements, Addendums and other legal related documents as may be required.
Ensure maintenance of database and adequate filing of all NEPWHAN litigation matter, disputes and properties and other related legal documentation.
Ensure safe custody of all litigation and property related files and documents.
Assist in implementing the units work programs and plans in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.
Assist in planning and managing the human and material resources of the department/team to optimize performance, morale and enhance productivity.
Manage inter-functional relations to ensure synergy across the various departmental functions
Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinate performance towards the achievement of overall team objectives
Perform any other duties as assigned by the National Cordinator.

Educational Requirements

First degree in Law.
MBA or relevant post graduate/ professional qualification is desirable.

Experience, Skills & Competencies:

5 years relevant work experience, with at least three (3) years in a Supervisory role in the NGO sector, UNAIDS, WHO, USAID, The Global Fund, PEPFAR etc funded projects.
Knowledge of donor regulations including UNAIDS, The Global Fund and/or other foreign government development agencies, and other multilateral development agencies.
Ability and willingness to flex work hours to accommodate multiple time zones, as needed.

Job Summary

This position is located in the National Office and assignments are undertaken in the areas of finance, administration and operations. Incumbents at this level will work to lead members of an audit team and report directly to the National Coordinator/Management Board

Responsibilities

The Auditor will be responsible for the following duties:

Lead audits/special reviews with... respect to large and complex operations. Identify and allocates tasks, coordinate/monitor work, control audit/assignment resources, consolidate results, etc
Prepare risk-based audits/reviews. Plan programmes in accordance with NEPWHAN standards
Supervise and coach staff throughout the audit/review with the view to ensuring conformity with NEPWHAN standards in all phases of the audit process
Empower and challenge more junior staff to actively participate in the management of the audit/review
Create data visualizations for internal or external use to support report writing and presentations
Collect, organize, manage and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
Conduct data collection and analysis using data analysis tools
Document, evaluate and test systems and controls to determine their adequacy and effectiveness, ensuring (i) compliance with policies and procedures, (ii) accomplishment of management’s objectives, (iii) reliability and integrity of information, (iv) economical use of resources, and (v) safeguarding of assets
Prepare working papers for review by the Management board
Develop and discuss findings, agree on recommendations and timelines for corrective action with responsible officer of operations audited, and monitor the implementation status of agreed recommendations
Prepare presentations, using available technology tools (e.g., PowerPoint)
Monitor the status of audit recommendations
Appraise adequacy of follow-up action taken on audit findings and recommendations
Maintain and update audit programs

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Finance Management, Accounting, or an equivalent University Degree; ICAN or ACCA certification is a must.
Professional experience of at least Seven years with at least Three years in a similar position, preferably in an international NGO, Global fund local IPs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in managing a large, diverse, multidisciplinary group of professionals in undertaking serious and complex internal audits is required
Experience with developing, managing, and implementing strategic and operational work plans for a large, complex, multidisciplinary internal audit function is required.
Experience with international internal audit activities is required.
Experience with an international or multilateral organization is desirable..
Knowledge of donor regulations including UNAIDS, The Global Fund and/or other foreign government development agencies, and other multilateral development agencies.
Ability to negotiate/support negotiations effectively with donors, troubleshoot issues, and take proactive approaches to improving financial and budget management processes.
