Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking 2 new members to join our multi-disciplinary Board. Board members are responsible for the overall governance of the organization. They provide guidance on strategy; ensure compliance with laws and policies such as safeguarding; guide the Director; assist with fundraising; and help to raise the profile of Sense International Kenya’s work. Board members have the... opportunity to serve and learn about how to ensure the rights of people with deafblindness and complex disabilities are realised. Board meetings usually take place quarterly in Nairobi or virtually.
General Responsibilities

Commitment to the vision and mission of Sense International
On a quarterly basis, attends board meetings and other board activities.
Provides oversight to the organization.
Stays informed about governance matters, prepares themselves well for meetings, and reviews and comments on minutes and board papers.
Participates strategic planning and organizational development.
Provides remote support during annual audits ad routinely reviews organizations budget and expenditure.
Supports in fundraising and acts as an ambassador to the organization’s vision.

Qualifications:
We want to recruit 1 Board member with an interest in our work and experience in one or more of the following:

Finance and Accounting
Grants Management
Fundraising and Resource Mobilization
We are looking for people with a minimum of 5 years’ experience especially in leadership positions on the areas mentioned above.

Job Purpose
This position is responsible for general program administration. The Intern will support project teams in the administration and implementation of projects.
Responsibility

Providing technical support across all programs, including processing of recurring project payments, and supporting the logistics officer in programmatic procurements.
To contribute to... the development of project PMEAL plans, including monitoring tools.
To regularly collect and analyze data to monitor the activities as per the PMEAL plan.
Support in development of quarterly program work plans, and project visit itineraries.
Support in collection of case study raw data from beneficiaries for compilation by program staff.
To assist in writing quarterly narrative reports for SI Kenya
Support in collating monthly budget versus expenditure reports.
Lead the analysis of CHV and nurses screening data to be shared monthly.
Maintains open communication and positive working relationship with staff.
Perform other duties/projects as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

Degree in any relevant field
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and collaboration skills.
Creative, resourceful and eager to learn.
Ability to thrive working collaboratively with both senior colleagues
Knowledge of sign language is an added advantage but not essential
