Job Overview

This position is for a short-term project. The State Research Lead will organize, coordinate, and conduct structured assessments utilizing Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focal Group Discussion (FGD) in the designated state according to the expected project outcomes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the 360HSDC team to conduct relevant assessments in line with the project deliverables including carrying out Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focal Group Discussions (FGD) with identified stakeholders.
Prepare detailed progress reports based on daily data collections activities carried out in the state.
Adhere to all data collection protocols during data collection activities.
Attend and participate in project related trainings and workshops.
Available for the entire duration of the project activities and willing to travel to select LGAs as required.
Maintain cordial public relations with local stakeholders including government officials, facility staff, clients, and community members through observing meaningful and respectful engagement during fieldwork.
Transcribe recordings from Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs).
Propose techniques to improve general research quality and outcomes.
Collate and document innovations and lessons learned from the field; and/or supporting processes to collect lessons and new evidence from across all field locations.
Support the synthesis and analysis of all collected data to inform state-specific analysis according to the prescribed requirements of this assignment.
Other duties assigned by the 360HSDC team.

Qualifications

B.Sc. in Biological Science or Social Science, Public Health, Statistics, or any related field from a recognized university.
At least 5 years’ demonstrated experience conducting qualitative research including relevant Family Planning research experience.
Demonstrated experience utilizing qualitative data collection tools and software.
Demonstrated experience working with government, facility level staff, and other stakeholders within the public health system.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong communication skills. Fluency in language(s) spoken in selected work location.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills to express ideas verbally and in writing and document procedures.
Ability to comply with the estimated project timelines.
