Job Purpose:
The public relations (PR) and Events executive is responsible for assisting in planning, developing, implementing, organizing, and evaluating the company's communication strategy and events while also protecting the company's reputation. The role holder will help manage relationships between the company and external parties. The person will oversee projecting the face of the company and will be instrumental in enhancing its popularity and trustworthiness.
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement and manage public relations strategies.
Manage media and stakeholder relations.
Organize and manage various public relations activities.
Use different channels to optimize each campaign's reach and success.
Organize and execute various events such as product launches, press conferences and brand events.
Liaise with the marketing team to ensure consistency in promoting the desired corporate image.
Arrange interviews and construct press releases and speeches.
Research, gather and recommend opportunities for sponsorships and other partnerships and manage relations.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists and social media influencers.
Stay up to date with PR and industry trends and best practices.
Devise creative public relations strategies that fit the company profile.
Organize and coordinate PR activities i.e., Press / media interviews, product launches, event launches, sponsorship meetings etc.
Use a variety of approved channels (TV, press, internet etc.) to maximize company exposure.
Advise the company on handling sensitive public issues to preserve its reputation.
Manage effectively and swiftly controversial news, events, and situations to avoid putting the company into disrepute.
Analyze the results of each PR campaign or effort and prepare relevant reports.
Collate and analyze media coverage as expected.
Write and edit in-house magazines, case studies, speeches, articles, and periodic reports.
Prepare and supervise the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films, and multimedia programmes.
Requirements:
An undergraduate degree or Diploma in Marketing / Business Management and / or related field.
Professional certification in PR and/or Marketing.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in PR & Marketing or Event management.
Paid or unpaid experience in successfully organizing a PR campaign.
Solid knowledge of social media (blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effective writing skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
Teamwork, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Business awareness and a good knowledge of current affairs.
Demonstrable ability to be discrete when handling sensitive matters whilst maintaining professionalism in all business dealings.
Good working knowledge of MS Office. Should be computer savvy and familiar with social networking.
