ABOUT THE JOB:
This role is to provide support for all activities that relates to creating awareness on sex education, use of contraception, disseminating information on Sexual Reproductive Health, awareness on safe delivery best practices and SRH rights to community members in Ngala. The SRH Officer based in Ngala will be responsible for the timely and quality delivery of field level activities with technical support from the GBV Program Manager, She/he will ensure the smooth running of SRH program in close coordination with other GBV/Protection actors on the project. The SRH officer is expected to also be familiar with running curriculum guiding adolescent girls’ program.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SRH Officer will be responsible for the following, including those not listed but are extensions of those expressly stated:

Ensure Adolescent girls, and boys adopt sexual and reproductive health behavior protecting themselves from health risks.
Work closely with the Senior GBV Officer to mainstream SRH into other sectors in the Organization.
Conduct capacity building training for staff on SRH programming in the organization.
Conduct weekly sessions on adolescent sexual reproductive health issues
Provide sex education, use of contraception, awareness raising and information on Sexual Reproductive Health.
Conduct Training to midwives and other health care providers on safe delivery best practices
Liaising with relevant government institution and partners to ensure close coordination of activities and best practices.
Conduct regular supportive field monitoring visits to partner locations and support GBV officer on activities, coordination and implementation.
Work closely with GBV officers, Case workers to assess SRH risk/issues and working closely with the Senior GBV Officer to address the issues.
Conduct SRH risk mapping and GBV safety audits in project locations closely with other project teams, including senior GBV officers.
Provide timely feedback on field visit.
Develop plans for effective implementation for SRH activities.
Manage/supervise SRH support staff and volunteers.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social sciences, public health, nursing required or any other related field from a certified tertiary institution.
At least 3 years humanitarian experience in implementing SHR Programme in emergency with a good understanding of sexual and reproductive health and right.

Flexible and willing to work and stay in rural communities especially field based
Good interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with all staff and key stakeholders.

Proven capacity for management and leadership
Demonstrable ability at report writing
Fluency in written and spoken English and Hausa
Computer literacy
Excellent presentation skills.
A critical thinker with outstanding interpersonal skills.
