VACANT FARM MANAGER POSITION
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking to hire a knowledgeable, experienced, and enthusiastic leader to head one of our farms. As the farm manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the poultry farm, maintaining quality chickens, and ensuring the workplace safety of all employees and visitors to the farm. The role is therefore suited for a capable highly experienced leader with excellent communication skills who is keen to work in a fast-paced growth company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE REQUIREMENTS
• Ensures the safety and efficiency of poultry farm operations and in consultation with the production, processing, stores section heads, prioritize tasks, assign duties and make decisions on the necessary amounts of machinery and number of casual workers.
• Record data and create reports on worker attendance, budgets, suppliers and animal growth, mortality among others, and share the reports regularly with the management.
• Ensure that materials and supplies are replenished as and when required with strict adherence to the company reorder levels.
• Ensuring workplace sanitation practices to prevent the spread of diseases.
• Record actions by documenting and updating forms, reports, animal records, and reporting diseases to the farm’s top management.
• Snap check every week all record books to ensure all suppliers are accurately recorded.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
• A Diploma in Animal Production and Health or a related field or extensive related experience.
• At least 2+ year’s industry experience.
• Experience with managing large scale Poultry production.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Able to make decisions in stressful environments.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Have an excellent understanding of bird welfare.
• Excellent management and leadership skills.
