Software SupportEngineer duties and responsibilities

Provide technical assistance with computer software
Resolve issues for customers via phone, in-person, or remotely
Log bugs and enhancement requests
Installation, configuration, and maintenance of RDBMS
Perform software installations, configurations, and updates as needed Provide training
Resolve technical issues in a timely manner and in accordance with the SLA

Software Support requirements and skills

Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related field from a recognized institution
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking skills, and data analytical skills.
Previous experience in software support for 5 years, MUST be with retail point-of-sale software(s) with finance and accounting modules.
Demonstrable Strong knowledge of RDBMS ( MSSQL, MSSQL, Postgres, Mysql)
Knowledge of IPv4 networking.
Knowledge of Reporting tools such as crystal and jasper reports is a plus
A clear understanding of the Software development life Cycle.
Strong knowledge of Windows 7,10,11, server Operating systems
Knowledge of Linux/Unix OS is desired but not a requirement.
