Our company is into Bulk Road Vehicle (BRV) Petroleum Tanker and Tailer operations. We are looking for results-oriented Transport and logistics Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the Transportation Department: Transport and Logistics Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and oversee transportation policies procedure and programs to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations • Manage and coordinate the transportation department's daily activities, including scheduling, planning routes, allocating of truck drivers and dispatching of vehicles • Ensure compliance with all applicable industry regulations related to transportation of goods (including petroleum products), driver qualification, vehicle maintenance and hours of service • Audit mileage and all fuel purchased • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for costing savings • Schedule maintenance and repairs on vehicles and keep records of same. Create and maintain driver/vehicle files (service and maintenance records) to review the effectiveness and problematic issues • Manage and review drivers / vehicles time of departure and arrival for trips when they return and with appropriate documentation. • Ensure that keys of vehicles are securely locked and given out with appropriate documentation • Managing relationships with industry players/regulators such as the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation company LTD (BOST), Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), other customers, etc • Ensure that all transportation-related documents, such as bills o f lading and delivery receipts, are accurate and complete and dispatching them to clients
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Social Sciences or related field • A professional certificate in either CILT or Management related field will be an added advantage • A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience • Excellent knowledge in Bulk Road Vehicle (BRV) Petroleum tanker and tailer operations • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations for transportation • Strong organizational and communication skills • Proficiency in transportation management software. • Strong leadership and team management skills • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
