RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the management of allocated development projects in such a manner as to achieve the necessary statistical data to effect ethical product registrations in the shortest possible time.

Duties will include the following:

Construction of trial protocols in accordance with Good Agricultural Practice and BASF guidelines in ARM
Allocating and Contracting external researchers/institutions to conduct the required trials in accordance with the relevant protocols and in the required bioclimatic regions
Ensure that trials are conducted in accordance with protocol requirements and good experimental practice
Review trial data submitted by contracted researchers to ensure the quality and integrity thereof
Verification and approval of invoices from contracted researchers prior to submission for payment and submission of ARM trial data into the BASF SPEAD database
Querying of the SPEAD database to extract statistical analyses of trials and projects for report compilations
Construction of trial result & project progress presentations for technical meetings with colleagues
Compilation of Project Executive Summaries for insertion into Registration Dossier
Compile presentations for training purposes on completed projects
Advise and mentor colleagues on technical aspects
Manage the allocated Project and Trial programs according to Key Tasks
Maintenance of a trial management database

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum BSc. in Agriculture or 10 years of relevant agricultural research experience
Minimum 5 years experience in crops grown in the Cape region
3 years of commercial agricultural experience, working with farmers
A working knowledge of ARM and SPEAD databases would be an advantage
A high level of competence in MS Office
