Job Summary

The job holder is responsible for directing, managing and providing leadership in Facilities Management at strategic and technical levels with responsibility for offering support services in areas of Infrastructure & capital constructions development projects, facilities maintenance, cafeteria and Transport services.

Key Responsibilities

Review of policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for facilities, cafeteria, and transport.
Ensure effective maintenance of facilities, buildings, electrical & mechanical equipment, utilities to ensure 100% availability of services.
Manage projects (new and existing) and coordinating with consultants and contractors.
Liaise with external institutions and Government Agencies in ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards.
Manage and coordinate cafeteria activities to ensure quality food is availed to the University community.
Manage and coordinate transport activities to ensure quality services are availed to the University community.
Ensure adherence and implementation of environmental, and safety measures and all statutory requirements in accordance with regulations and existing law.
Liaise with external institutions and Government Agencies in ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards.
Develop and coordinate implementation of energy efficiency programs and opportunities with aim of achieving energy savings.

Job Specifications:

Academic Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field

Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies/ Publication
Registered as an Engineer by Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK)

Member of a relevant professional body.

Work Experience Required

Minimum of seven (7) years overall experience and out of which at least two (2) year should be at supervisory level.
