Profile of the consultant (Qualification and Experience) 
Consultant applying for this job will be expected to have the below requirements;

A Master’s degree in social sciences, arts or any relevant field. 
Experience in conducting field-based assessment, designing/reviewing poverty-alleviation, developmental or humanitarian policies or programmes.  
Understanding of the subject area and recent developments on social protection and gender equality in Nigeria.
Familiarity with the National Social Protection Programmes/Policy.
Significant field experience in operationalizing policies in a humanitarian/development context;
Significant experience in coordination, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs;
Good communications skills.
Ability to write clear and useful reports (may be required to produce examples of previous work);
Fluent in English. Fluency in Hausa will be an advantage;
Understanding of northwest Nigeria political context will be an added  advantage
Ability to manage the available time and resources and to work to tight deadlines;
Independence from the parties involved.
