Job purpose
The Assistant Manager will be responsible for coordinating and co-managing all projects that are undertaken under Energy, Environment and Climate Change Pillar.
Duties and responsibilities

Work closely with the manager to ensure smooth running of the Pillar and all its projects
Co-planning, assigning and supervising pillar projects per sector and ensuring the projects are executed in a timely manner and within the set resources.
Own and drive the institutional clean cooking project focusing on learning and health institutions
Training of branches on clean energy transitions
Establishment and maintaining a close working relationship among the pillar, other departments of EGF and the Bank to ensure smooth running of the EE & CC Pillar Programs
Supporting the Pillar’s projects and aligning them to the Bank’s objective of driving business through eco-system banking.
Supporting daily administrative and management of Pillar projects including assigning and supervising work schedules for the officer and senior officers.
Requesting data from relevant sources, receiving, analysing, consolidating and maintaining the pillar’s data and reports. 
Promoting/ cross selling the Banks’ products to pillar partners and linking them to specific departments and individuals for seamless customer service. 
Ensuring that planned capacity building activities for staff and customers are effectively carried out.

Working conditions
The position entails coverage of an extensive knowledge in climate related projects and might require more time to be spent in the office providing administrative services.
Reporting Line
The Assistant Manager will report directly to the Associate Director but closely with the Manager. The Asst. Manager will be assigned several senior officers and will support the manager in managing the senior officers, officers, interns and any other personnel reporting to the manager.
Expected outputs
 Deliver assigned targets output in terms of expected output - numbers of projects completed, capacity of energy projects undertaken, economic, social and environmental impact and performance of the pillar. Periodic reports (Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly) on program specific activities as detailed out in the Key Performance Indicators KPI’s contract.
Qualifications
Education

University degree a business-related course, environmental science, renewable energy or Sustainability related courses
Professional training in data or people management, or related courses will be an added advantage

Experience

Experience working with and managing teams
At least 3 years’ work experience in reputable organization especially in project management.
