Key Responsibilities:

Support students' issues, under the guidance of the school counselor
Visiting students at home to assess their needs
Working to maximize coping skills for students in difficult situations
Offering mentorship programs for students under the guidance of the school counselor
Support the School Counselor Identify problems in the school setting, such as bullying or aggressive behavior
Support the School Counselor Interview parents and teachers of students who face problems to update their records
Support in selection process of new students joining the School with the support of the School Counselor
Promoting the general well-being of students
Working with outside agencies to provide support to families in support of the Advocacy and Community Liaison Officer
Supports the Admin Officer in maintaining students files and medical records
Support Admin Officer in issuing newsletters to students on a need basis.

Essential Skills and Requirements:

Degree in a specialist technical or professional field relevant to role (e.g. Social Work, Child Protection, Child Rights, Psychology, Occupational Therapy)
Registered Member of Kenya Counseling & Psychological Association (KCPA)
Experience with case management and referrals
Experience working with vulnerable children and teenagers
Experience working with displaced / asylum seeking children
Commitment and Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
High level of accountability over work
Excellent communication skills, both writing and speaking
Excellent interpersonal skills
Good IT skills including the use of MS Office, Google Drive and Slack
Fluency in Swahili and English
Minimum 23 years old
Completion of CRB/Background check (if applicable)
