Position Summary

We are looking for a Project Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist to support us in delivery of several engagements to clients in the development sector including Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), other Development Partners (DPs), philanthropists, amongst others.
The Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist shall be responsible for designing and implementing project communication strategies, developing, and managing project brand identities, knowledge management, supporting management of external relationships and partnerships, and monitoring communication effectiveness. The specialist can be based in any African country.

Key roles and responsibilities

Design and lead implementation of the projects’ communication strategy.
Develop and manage project brand identities.
Coordinate plans for project initiatives including organizing launch events and other stakeholder convenings, conferences and webinars, and publications.
Create innovative project communication materials, including brochures, and facilitating translation to French, Portuguese, and Arabic as the need arises.
Produce content to create and promote awareness of the projects’ objectives and activities.
Work with implementing partners to collect information and prepare and publish/publicize success stories.
Manage project communication platforms including the projects’ websites, and social media platforms.
Support programmatic reporting.
Any other project communication duties, as shall be assigned.

Academic/Professional qualifications and Experience:

Masters’ degree in Communication or related field.
A minimum of 7 years of experience with professional record in communications, preferably on donor funded programmes. This should include experience in undertaking the roles above.
Professional proficiency in English and French. Knowledge of Arabic and/or Portuguese is an added advantage.
