Summary of Role:  
This role provides the vision for and direction of human resources across the organization while ensuring a high-performance culture with a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in every facet of the work. As part of Global Services Office, this role will lead the HR service unit to provide support to Pathfinder country teams which are led by two Presidents.   This role will partner with the Presidents to support Pathfinder’s country-led strategy and deliver effective HR to its clients.  This will result in a thorough understanding and support of the business needs while advancing Pathfinder’s core values, promoting positive employee engagement, and helping to guide and communicate overall HR strategy. The position will also ensure there is collaboration with country-office HR to provide support for strategic initiatives and drive compliance with global HR policies and risk management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy: 


Develops and advances the human resources strategic vision and organizational culture required to advance Pathfinder’s mission.


HR Leadership:


Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the specialist HR units and HR business partners. Lead, inspire and continuously strengthen the global HR community to ensure strong alignment globally on core HR standards and requirements.


Global Business Partnership:


Establish and manage relationships with Pathfinder’s country office senior management and global Program management in support of Pathfinder’s overall country-led business strategy and objectives


Total Rewards:


Compensation: ensure that there is a robust Total Rewards and compensation structure to attract and retain talent and meet Pathfinder’s business goals within a rapidly changing environment.


Risk Assessment and Mitigation: 


Accountable for ensuring effective Global HR risk assessments and development of mitigation plans, including within country offices. Ensure HR department collaborates effectively with internal investigations.


Talent Management: 


Lead Pathfinder’s talent management and development strategy and ensure delivery of corresponding interventions to build skills and capabilities to realize the organization’s commitments / country-led strategy


Talent Acquisition: 


Partners with senior management, country directors, and HR leaders to implement policies and programs to attract, develop and retain diverse talent.


Compensation: ensure that there is a robust compensation structure to attract and retain talent and meet Pathfinder’s business goals within a rapidly changing environment.


Global HR Policies and Procedures: 


Leads the team to own and drive compliance with Pathfinder policies, including delivery of effective global policy training, in alignment with overall Learning strategies.


External Engagement: 


Represents Pathfinder at HR events within the sector and engages with external HR professionals to remain up to date with sector and HR changes.


Required Education and Work Experience:


Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field is required


Ten (10) or more years of progressive Human Resources leadership and management experience in a global for-profit or nonprofit with six (6) years in a senior management position


Significant, successful experience leading and developing global/regional HR teams and providing strategic leadership and advice on people and culture within a multicultural workforce


Advanced Knowledge of HRIS and other HR- specific software applications.


Work with USAID and/or other international development donors and partners


Preferred Competence and Work Experience:


Master’s degree in human resources, business, or related field


Written and oral language skills in French, Portuguese, Arabic or Amharic


Experience with strategic planning, global enterprise implementation and staff management.


Successful track record of working in a large organization undergoing significant transformational change and leadership transition.


Must be a results-oriented individual with the persistence and patience necessary to work effectively with a variety of internal and external constituents.

Leadership:


Serves as an integral member of the Global Services organization and as a trusted advisor to the Chief, Global Services, quickly grasping priorities and issues and developing well-reasoned and thoughtful strategies to address them


Communication: Motivates and inspires through effectively articulating the organization’s vision and objectives. Experience communicating issues clearly in a multicultural environment.


Strategy Development and Implementation: Highly developed critical thinking and strategy skills to craft approaches that promote the long-term goals of the organization.


Advanced knowledge of and ability to apply global Human Resources management practices and principles, employee relations regulations and requirements, total rewards, training and learning, and retention strategies (management, motivation, development, mentorship) to create a positive work culture.


Ability to establish solid working relationships with senior management, program management, and staff in various business areas of the organization

Travel Requirements:


International/regional travel required one time per quarter for 2 weeks 2-3 countries during each visit.
