Role Overview:
The Fund Mobilization/Grant/Business Development Manager will lead the development and execution of strategies to secure funding for the NGO's programs and initiatives. This role involves identifying funding opportunities, building relationships with donors, and overseeing the proposal development process to ensure sustainable financial support for the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy Development
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with the CS-SUNN’s mission, goals, and objectives.
Lead the mapping process for selecting partners, working closely with the program team to identify selection criteria and make sure selection is transparent and well documented.
Manage and handle the administration of pre-award due diligence processes with all new sub-awardees. Identify specific risk factors associated with the award, and the identification and implementation of appropriate measures to manage those risks.
Conduct market analysis and research to identify potential funding sources, including government grants, private foundations, corporate sponsorships, and individual donors.
Set fundraising targets and goals, tracking progress and ensuring accountability for achieving objectives.
KPIs under this section would be:
Funding Targets:
Percentage of annual funding targets achieved through grants and donations.
Total amount of funds raised versus targeted amounts for the fiscal year.
Percentage of annual funding targets achieved through support to state chapters grants and donation drive
Diversification of Funding Sources:
Number of new funding sources identified and engaged (e.g., foundations, corporate sponsors, individual donors).
Percentage of funding from diversified sources (e.g., grants, donations, partnerships).
Grant Writing and Proposal Development
Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality grant proposals, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines and requirements.
Collaborate with program teams to gather relevant data, success stories, and project details necessary for proposal development.
Maintain a comprehensive database of funding opportunities and track application deadlines and requirements.

Grant Application Success Rate:
Percentage of submitted grant applications that receive funding at National and state chapters
Number of grants awarded versus the total number of applications submitted at national and state chapters

Feedback ratings from funders on the clarity and effectiveness of submitted proposals.
Number of revisions required per proposal before submission.
Timeliness of Grant Submissions:
Percentage of grant proposals submitted by the deadline.
Average time taken to prepare and submit grant applications.
Alignment with CS-SUNN Goals:
Percentage of grant proposals aligned with the CS-SUNN’s strategic objectives and program areas.
Donor Relationship Management
Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.
Develop and implement donor recognition and stewardship programs to acknowledge contributions and maintain strong partnerships.
Prepare and deliver presentations to potential donors and stakeholders, effectively communicating the CS-SUNN's mission, impact, and funding needs.
KPIs under this section would be:
Donor Engagement:
Number of donor meetings and interactions held annually.
Satisfaction ratings from donors regarding communication and relationship management.
Retention Rate of Donors:
Percentage of repeat donors or funding partners from previous years.
Average duration of donor relationships.
Business Development and Networking
Identify and develop strategic partnerships with corporate entities, foundations, and other organizations to enhance fundraising efforts.
Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and networking events to build relationships and promote the CS-SUNN’s mission.
The individual will be working with resource team at the states level to raise funding
Collaborate with the communications team to develop promotional materials and campaigns to enhance visibility and support fundraising initiatives.
Monitoring and Reporting
Develop and maintain tracking systems for fundraising activities, grant submissions, and donor communications.
Prepare regular reports on fundraising performance, including successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements, providing timely and accurate updates on program impact and financial utilization.
Team Leadership and Capacity Building
Provide guidance and support to fundraising and grant writing staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Train and mentor team members on best practices in fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the fundraising team.
KPIs under this section would be :
Team Performance and Development:
Performance ratings of state team members involved in business development and fundraising.
Completion rates of individual professional development plans for state resource mobilization team members.
Training and Capacity Building:
Number of training sessions conducted for staff and state chapters members on grant writing and resource mobilization strategies.
Participant feedback ratings from training sessions.
Collaboration and Communication:
Frequency of collaboration with other departments (e.g., program, finance) to identify funding needs and opportunities.
Feedback from team members on the effectiveness of communication and collaboration.
ualifications & Experience:
A minimum of 7-15 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or business development within the non-profit sector.
Proven track record of successfully securing grants and funding from a variety of sources, including government, foundations, and corporate entities.
Strong understanding of the funding landscape and current trends in fundraising and development.
Experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies that achieve organizational goals.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Development Studies, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
Master’s Degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
Certification in Fundraising Management or similar credentials is a plus.
