Fellow and BOT member of the Nigerian Society for Microbiology (FNSM). Registered member, Environmental Health officers registration council of Nigeria (EHORECON). Has supervised up to 100 postgraduate students (MSC, PGD,and PhD). His research effort spanning across Public health, Environmental and antimicrobial drugs and Biotechnology has lead to the publication of over 100 peer rviewd articles in reputable journals.Prof MD Mukhtar is currently the Editor in Chief, Bayero Journal of Pure and applied Sciences BAJOPAS,. He is till date the President of the Center for Environmental and Public Health Research and Development CEPHARD).
He is an external Examiner to many Universities.
