Opera Singers Book Club

  • OSBC is a Role Study program designed to provide remote or in-person role preparation of entire operatic roles. While it is encouraged to focus on building standard repertoire, Chris has also prepared singers for many contemporary roles in titles such as Little Women, Blue, Driving While Black, and more. OSBC was founded in 2020 by Chris Maldonado to address the deficit of role study and music learning education in music institutions. Too often singers are under the impression that you cannot learn an operatic role or prepare music without being at a music school or auditioning into an opera company or YAP. This is not the case, and OSBC has been providing singers with the tools to become more independent of these exorbitant programs since 2020. Singers from OSBC have gone on to perform roles at Fort Worth Opera, Arizona Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, and many more!
